The in-person bluffing game

IMPOSTER.

Different question. Same room. Terrible excuses.

📖 How to play · Rules & scoring

1. Create or join: One player hosts a room, chooses 3–12 players, question mode and 5, 10, 15 or 20 rounds. Everyone joins on their own device using the room code. The game starts when the room is full.

2. Answer secretly: Everyone receives a private question. One randomly chosen player is the Imposter and receives a different question. Don't show your screen or reveal your question. Submit your own answer.

3. Discuss: When everyone has answered, the regular players' question and all answers appear. Explain your answer, question suspicious responses and try to spot the imposter. The imposter must blend in.

4. Vote: The host opens voting. Each player chooses one other player as the suspected imposter. Votes are final. Once everyone votes, the imposter and their secret question are revealed.

🏆 Scoring

+2 points for every player who correctly votes for the imposter.

+3 points for the imposter if fewer than half the players vote for them. Otherwise, the imposter earns no bonus.

Scores carry across rounds. After the selected final round, the game ends and the highest score wins. Ties are possible.

Tip: Keep your private question secret, even if you suspect you're the imposter. There is no discussion timer — the host decides when voting begins.
